step away..

This weekend I had a no computer (and no phone) weekend. And I liked it!

I have been spending unhealthy amounts of time on the computer of late. So, after a DnM with Mr Peck ... (that may or may not have involved some hysterical-ness and crying) I decided enough was enough and stepped away from the computer. I am going to try and keep away from it a lot more as well. It's a creativity zapper. It doesn't feel like it when you are constantly looking at other people's blogs and ideas and pinterst... but ultimately, when you are doing that all the time, when is there time to do your own thing? For me, there wasn't any. 

So... here's me saying I'm taking time off from blogging so much, and I'm banning myself from pinterest hehe.. nooooooooo! But true.

Here's what I got up to when I didn't have the computer to inhibit me.

* ceramic characters... (still to be dried etc)

* recycled jar into candle holder.

* Aaand... a whole lot of knitting!

Oh man. I want this bad! Such a brilliant idea - a journal with white lines!

Day 4: Greeting Card

Hello... After some thinking on what to do, I decided to do something easy and fun for today's creativeness. I already had the paper left over from some other cards I made (it is 100% handmade) and have always liked sewing and buttons on paper... so here it is, a Thank You card!

I would like to do some other posts, rather than just the 30 Days of Creativity ones... so stay tuned for those! Not sure when I will get the chance... but .. I will try :)

Day 3: Sketch

Well... I have to admit that I am struggling to find quick little creative things I can do. I usually leave the challenge until the end of the day and by that time I am tired and don't feel like doing anything more. 

Today I did a sketch with charcoal and soft pastels. The edges are a little cut off... stoopid scanner

What I really wanna get good at is watercolour but every time I try it doesn't look good... I think I always put too much colour. I'll try that another day. 

Birds of a Feather

It's 1:38am.

I have been working all day and didn't feel like being creative at all. I attempted to knit an owl which ended in frustration because the pattern didn't make sense and it didn't turn out at all.

I feel like I have forgotten how to be creative.... 

Here is what I churned out eventually. Nothing special.. but it's a start, I can only go up from here right? I hope that tomorrow is easier!

30 Day of Creativity

Some of you may have heard about this. 30 Days of Creativity means that every day in June (so starting TODAY!) I will be sharing something that I've gotten creative with. Hopefully I can really do this because I need some ways to improve my creative bone and get the juices reflowing. I feel like I used to be a whole lot more creative, and lately I have been letting myself down. It's been going on for a while and I don't feel like myself. So here's hoping this 30 Days of Creativity challenge is gunna get me my creativity back!

Now, I'm not really sure that there are any guidelines to follow. I think you just go ape and create whatever takes your fancy. On the Tumblr they do share a little inspiration calendar thingy bob so I think if I get stuck I'll use that. 

What I need you to do: encouragement please!! I know that I am not the most consistent of people and lack a little bit of will power, so I'm really gunna need you guys to give me a kick up the bum if I start slacking!

One thing that does worry me a little is that near the end of June, Mr Peck & I are leaving on a jet plane to the land of USA. We are going to NY & Chicago... so hopefully I can find ways of sharing my creativeness with you guys! 

I'll share my creativeness for today a little later, but in the mean time I just wanted to offer you a warning.

Pinterest is a dangerous website that should be avoided at all costs. It can ruin your work life, make you fail classes, lead to malnutrition and divorce. It can possibly lead to the need for glasses and cause chronic fatigue syndrome. Just saying.
